I lied

Okay, so I lied. I'm going to post again. . . . Today. ;) I thought my last entry was a little bit . . . blah, so we'll make this one more fun. I usually include some sort of visual imagery in my blogs, and as I was driving around Yakima (doing that shopping I was talking about earlier) when I started waxing poetic. Or at least waxing thoughtful. :) Low clouds have been hanging around Yakima recently (As I discovered on my way to pick Andy up. Hooray for a five-foot visibility radius!) and today was no different. Except, with Yakima being in a valley, when low clouds roll in, it's like a cap has been put on the sky. There's no blue sky visible anywhere (unusual) and the tops of the hills are hidden. It's slightly weird to look up and see a place where the sky seems to start. I'm used to it being pretty boundless here. That's one thing I love about summer skies. :) They look so open and cheerful.

I bought The Princess Bride for my family today. Well, we'll see if my mom likes it enough to buy it off me. ;) If not, I own another DVD!!! Hooray!!!! (If I were Steve the Beav, that sentence would end with something more along the lines of "!!!1!!!shiftone!!1!1!!!!" which I find enjoyable, in spite of the fact that he blocks my pandas on AIM. :-\ ~sigh!~

I still do not have all my shopping done . . . Yakima is seriously short on the shops. Maybe I'll have to go all the way to somewhere like . . . Selah, or something . . . ;)

See almost all of you guys on Sunday!

Christmas Post

This will probably be my last post before Christmas. I don't think we'll get around to having a Christmas party at my house this year. If you guys are all open to having one on Wednesday the 22nd, that would be great, but it's a bit short notice. :) I still hope to have a New Year's Eve party, but this would mean that I would have to call people and you know . . . plan. :-\

I have quite a bit of shopping left to do. Guess that means I should get going . . . I really don't feel like it . . . I'd much rather be making cookies. :) But if I stay home my dad will have me cleaning the house, so I'll be leaving soon, feel like it or not. ;)

I just checked my SPU e-mail the other day after a long absence and boy were there a lot of comments! I had thirty-five e-mails and about thirty-two of those were comment notifications. ;) I wonder how many e-mail notifications of comments Andy received every day during the height of comment season . . . ?Time for shopping!

My ride home was great. :) I don't think Molly and I ever stopped talking for more than thirty seconds straight. ;) It's also great being home. I was pretty lazy today and didn't get out of my pajamas until quite a late hour.

I am in the middle of a project at the moment. I am assembling a pine garland for above our mantle. It will look pretty. :) I don't know what it is, but I'm really feeling like I need to have everybody over for a Christmas-type party. If it snows out we could some outdoor-type activites and have hot chocolate, and as it sounds like quite a few of us will have gifts to exchange we could do that too. I'm also considering throwing a New Year's bash, but probably without confetti this time. ;) Give me some feedback on what you think folks! You're the ones who would be invited! Minus Steve, who will be in North Carolina having his own fun. :)

It's been nice to be home. It's also been nice to spend some time with my brother, who I almost beat down in pool except that I called the wrong pocket for the eight ball . . . koh! I hate guy rules . . . ;)

And as for the great shoe debate, I have about . . . six or seven pairs. Not a huge number, but way more than the average guy, I suppose. I think girls can go to an excess on shoes some of the time, but I think I may have managed to avoid that. :) And I am more than willing to part with them for long enough to chuck one at someone. They are often one of my most powerful and impromptu weapons. ;) There are few people among my friends who have not tasted the wrath of my shoes at one point or another.

In other news, I've been offered a job at, of all places, tech help in the library. Apparently all the other applicants were too introverted. Imagine that . . . ;) So we'll see what comes from that. It would be nice if I could get enough hours. The pay is a lot better than my current job in the library, and if they think I could do a good job at the type of thing, I'd do my best. :)

No school for almost a month!

Done with finals done with finals done with finals done with finals!!!!!!!!!!!!! And in case you didn't know, I'm done with finals!!!!! No more school for almost a month! :D I got a coffee afterwards to celebrate, in case you couldn't guess. ;)

I tracked down the stupidity on Tuesday. It's source was really me, as could have been expected. ;) I did not realize that pay checks were not mailed out, but rather picked up. So I went and got all my paychecks yesterday. :D

It has been raining for the last four days straight. Straight, I tell you. But today, something great happened. :) My room mate and I were sitting at our respective desks, when suddenly something unknown and unrecognized occured. The sun came out!!!! We were so shocked that we just sat there in the blaring light feeling like vampires! My room mate couldn't even see enough to close the blinds it was so blindingly bright! I am so looking forward to the sunshine of Yakima!

Something else funny happened today. When I opened my door, there were streamers hanging down in my face! The girls on birthday committee decided that today was close enough to my half birthday to celebrate. ;) I believe my approximate reaction to opening the door was, "What the . . .?" with a smile. :) I don't understand why they chose that celebrating my half birthday right before Christmas break was better than celebrating my real birthday before summer break, but I'm not complaining! I got candy! :D

It is also good that the rain has stopped because I have lost my umbrella. :( And it was a nice umbrella too . . . which is probably why I can't find it. ;) I know I left it in my USEM on Monday, but it hasn't been turned into UNICOM (the lost and found) so someone has apparently decided to keep it. And that was my only rain protection too . . . ~sigh!~ How sad. I feel very vulnerable to Seattle's most deadly weapon without my shield of awesomeness . . . Heh. I'm so overdramatic. ;) I'm sure it'll turn up.

And now it's time for something that has been long overdue! An important announcement! Ahem! A new blog has been started! After the phenonmenon started on Andy's blog, (I believe the count is now at . . . 74 comments?) a blog entirely for commenting purposes has been created! go to www.commentcentral.blogspot.com and join in on the fun!

Joyful AND Triumphant

Ha HA! I have a ride home with Molly Smith! I'm done with the not-so-nice chem lab! I found out that I only have two finals on Tuesday, not three! I am feeling so ready for Christmas break I could burst!

Today, I have a mission. A mission to crack down on stupidity. Not only am I going after my own stupidity (studying for finals) but I'm also going to come down on the lovely people at Student Financial Services. It has come to my attention that I have not been receiving pay slips. As I would assume it is a general practice to let employees know when you're paying them, the natural conclusion would be that I have not been getting paid . . . Interesting.

I am going to give everyone a link now. It is a great link. It is a link to a game. It is a great game. It is called Fishy. Go! Devour the fishes! http://www.2flashgames.com/f/f-172.htm

Perhaps I am blonde?

I am seriously such a ditz . . . ;) I do not have labs next week. I don't know what I was thinking. I will be done with class by Tuesday. That is great. I have four days of class left, and probably seven days until I go home. I've re-notified everyone I originally sent an e-mail to, and hopefully I'll be able to find a ride home.

I am also a ditz because I accidentally mislabeled part of my PowerPoint presentation. I am not sure if the class noticed, as they're engineering majors, but I put "atoms" when I meant "molecules"!! How embarrassing! What am I, in third grade science??? We'll see if my USEM professor noticed. ;)

Heh. I just deleted a whole paragraph on Easy Mac, in case you were wondering. ;) All too often I find myself rambling for no good reason about no good topic. I know there's something better than Easy Mac to talk about . . .

Oh yeah! I'm going to have a couple more hours in the library next quarter so it will be easier to earn my work study money. :) Still not a large number of hours, but enough to be able to earn it all and still get school work done.

And everyone needs to comment and/or e-mail depending on your desire for privacy/urgency and give me their Christmas lists. Now. 'Cause I'm goin' shoppin' when I get home! :D Whoever doesn't give me your Christmas list will be receiving all the Acetyl CoA from pyruvate that they can process! Hooray for glycolysis and the Krebs cycle! I've got finals on the brain, if you couldn't tell. ;)

And finally, everyone pray for Evening in December! My daddy's in it again this year (I'm so sad that I won't be able to come to a performace! :(), and the dress rehearsal is on Thursday. Pray that lines will be remembered, cues will be hit, and most importantly, that people's lives will be touched!
